F. A. Mann is considered to be one of the finest British lawyers of this century, esteemed both as an international jurist and as a practising solicitor. He combined a thriving and prestigious practice with a prolific output of writing and teaching, with much of his work centering on the interrelationship of international and national law. Among his publications are Studies in International Law (OUP, 1973), Further Studies in International Law (OUP, 1990), and Foreign Affairs in English Courts (OUP, 1986). He died in September 1991, whilst at work on the proofs of the fifth edition of his virtually canonical work, The Legal Aspect of Money. A good novel but my only negative comment was the almost constant usage throughout the entire story of the foul language the brothers used in communicating with each other. It's almost like the "f" word was the only word they knew. For me, somehow this constant word took away some of the enjoyment in reading an otherwise great western story.

Loved it!! Couldn't put this one down. Sometimes the love your craving is right in front of you. Take a chance and you may find your happy. Luke and Lilly may act like enemies but deep down they are anything but.

nothing wrong with the story. it flowed easy to read and keep up with the story line.

Tough Luck Cowboy was such an unexpected surprise! This enemies to lovers/second chance romance hooked me in right from the start and though this is my first time reading a cowboy romance, I know it won't be my last! This is book 2 in the interconnected standalone Crossroads Ranch series, and can be enjoyed without reading the previous book, Second Chance Cowboy.I really loved both Luke and Lily. The tension and build up between them was so delicious and fun. I loved seeing their oil and water mix and watching all the sparks fly. ;) There is so much unsaid between these two and their circumstances couldn't be more complicated, with Lily being the ex-wife of Luke's best friend. Through it all though, you can't help but root for these two to get their second chance. One of my favorite things about the two of them is that even with the threat of loss looming or the odds stacked against them, they don't give up their individual dreams and hopes (much to the dismay of the other at times). Even though Luke was emotionally closed off and Lily's instinct was to run, I still found these 2 characters very brave and strong. Things move pretty quickly in the book, but considering this has been three years in the making, it didn't feel rushed or like instalove at all. Though I really enjoyed the ending and epilogue (I'm hoping for more details or an epilogue further down the road in the next book or beyond), I was left curious about the future of Tucker and Luke's friendship. Their reckoning was quick due to the timing of their discussion and just didn't seem fully resolved to me. Perhaps this will also be addressed in the next book.I actually have not read book 1, Second Chance Cowboy, but Ava ended up being one of my favorite characters. Her friendship and loyalty to Lily was unwavering and her analogy to being Lily's bra was the best! Everyone can only hope to have a friend like her. I also am very intrigued by the youngest Everett, Walker, and am excited for his book next!*I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

Tough Luck Cowboy is the first chance I have had to read anything by A.J. Pine and it certainly will not be the last. I became completely engrossed in this story from the very first page. The storyline is unique and entertaining.The story starts out with poor Lilly Green having the worst birthday possible. She has her divorce papers in hand, she has run straight into her soon to be ex-husband's best friend, and she has just talked herself into catering for a wedding without knowing who the groom is. Oh my! I think I found an instant bond with Lilly. She has courage that is for sure and she's determined to make her new catering business work even if it means she has to cater the wedding of her ex-husband to his now pregnant soon to be wife. Oh and on top of that, she has to put up with the guy that she thinks hates her. He is to help her work everything out for the wedding food.Luke Everett has is that bad boy cowboy that all ladies love to look at and maybe drool over but he's too busy to settle down and on top of that his best friend married the only lady that he's ever really thought of in the forever sense.Little do Luke and Lilly know that under all that hostility there is simmering passion that could turn into one incredible romance given the chance.I was so totally engrossed in this book that I read it in one sitting. I just could not put it down. I had to see just what was going to happen with Lilly and Luke, how he was going to finish out his rodeo career and if there was a chance that these two just might be able to turn all that friction into a strong and passionate love.There are funny moments, heartfelt moments, heart-stopping moments, and of course some really great romantic moments in this book. The characters are incredible, the storyline certainly captured my attention, and the author has a lovely writing style to make this just a truly enjoyable read.I have not read the first book in this series but I didn't feel like I was missing any important details. Ms. Pine has done a great job of telling the story so it stands on its own just fine. Now that I have read Tough Luck Cowboy I would love to read the first books in the series. I am sure they are just as awesome as this book is.This may be the first book I have read by A.J. Pine but I know I will be on the lookout for more of her work. I can't wait to see what she has in store for Walker Evertt in the next book in this series.I was given the opportunity to read this incredible book and it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you.
