I’ve been a practicing LPN for 7 yrs, and I still find helpful hints in this LPN pocket book. It would fit in your scrub shirt pocket perfectly, however I keep it by my computer for a quick reference.

This is really good for when you are taking nursing courses and doing some clinical rotations and there are times when you need quick info on a specific topic and the book is not at your reach. It gives you the most important things to know about a disease process, labs, etc...

As an auditor, this book is an extremely useful guide with references directly linked from the IIA standards. Unlike the terms and explanations used by traditional books, it presents some different landscape of outlook to easily understand important concepts behind internal auditing. The book also reflects contemporary issues with hints of relevant historical events and it clearly emphasized the areas auditors should have focus and be aligned with to bring more value to businesses and organizations. However, illustrative models made by the author are a bit confusing and most of the time do not relate in some degree of sense to the author's explanation. But definitely, a recommended book for beginning practitioners.

I have not yet read it am still reading another one but am sure I will like it.

I reviewed this book last summer and would love to adapt it into my classes, but I know that my students would NEVER read this. This book is littered with important and insightful tidbits of information. At least 100 times I stopped and said "wow, I never thought of it that way." The fact that I kept falling asleep while reading the book reflects more on the American reader's need for bright flashing lights and inability to process the dry, than the quality of the material. I'm sad that I've become someone who need pictures and graphs and captions and text and even occasional bold type in order to enjoy a well written, well researched tome. I'm also disappointed that this book doesn't show up at IIA events, isn't well known in academic circles, and most book reps don't seem to know about it. Overall I would call this required reading for auditing instructors, audit nerds, and people who love dry British literature. If he ever comes out with a dumbed down version with end of chapter questions, mini-cases and a test bank then I'm using this book because it is far superior to the competition. 1,000% better than Herman Melville even without the whale.

It's been a very long time since I've enjoyed a book as much I have this one. Mythos is a beautiful retelling of the Greek myths that is absolutely endearing. Within the first few pages, I knew that this is the book I would like someone to read to me on my death bed. Astoundingly well written.

Audio retelling of the myths -- with Fry's POV and insights, is an excellent audio book -- although, if you aren't remembering your mythology clearly, the first disk about the Titans, chucked full of information, is a bit dry and requires careful listening to get through. But on Disk 2, beginning with the story of the rise of Zeus, Fry's thoughts and interjections come through and add interest to the retelling of these stories and his perspective. Recommend highly!

Mr Fry is one of the authors I follow and I was excited to find this unexpected gem from him. I was used to his memoirs and contemporary tales and Mythos was a pleasant surprise.This is a wItty, beautifully written and intelligent reselling of these tales that I know so well from Robert Graves books, and I spent a delightful time with my May favorite characters from Greek Mythology who came to life in this wonderful book.I am a huge fan of Stephens writing and I anticipated this would be great, and he certainly has not disappointed in any way.If you want to revisit these stories or would like to explore the myths that certainly are intrinsic to the western world in so many ways, allow Stephen Fry to take you on this wonderful journey.I loved this book.

What a joy to read a coherent and clearly well researched story about the very naughty Greek gods written by one of the best intellectual minds out there. No matter what your beliefs, this is a romp you cannot fail to enjoy, Stephen Fry's prose as alive with mischief as the characters. You will have a smile on your face all the way through.

Since childhood, I have enjoyed reading about Greek mythology when my parents gave me my first book. The retelling of the myths by Stephen Fry is captivating. I bought this book because I find Stephen Fry on his show QI to be able to explain things in such a way to make even the most mundane or unbelievable subject enjoyable. I made a good choice to read the book, before listening to the audiobook of Mythos. You will not be disappointed.

Great book, at a great price, and given where it needed to travel from, it was delivered fast. Prior to its estimate, and just in time for my husband to take with him on his next trip.He downloads lots of books to read and uses Audible, too. But sometimes, he just wants to hold a real book and read where he has no phone charge, or where he can't (or won't) take his phone. The beach, certain workplaces where phones aren't allowed, etc.The only negative is that the cardboard envelope this was mailed in, got wet once it was put into and stuck out a little from the mailbox. The book was fine, but the receipt with it was not. Easily might've been the book that suffered, as the cardboard was wet all the way through and to the other side.

Book is beautiful. Shipping was great; however, the book reeks of sulfur and I cannot get rid of it. I have tried everything suggested by anyone who knows anything about books, and nothing works. The smell is so potent and overpowering that I can’t stand it have it around. It’s in a ziplock bag and living out in my garage right now. I’m not sure what has caused this nauseating smell, but it has made the book unreadable.

Writty and informative, Frys retelling of greet mythology sticks in my mind the way no other account of mythology ever had. It’s a true joy to read as it puts lots of loose pieces of names and places in my together, place them into context and give me a deep understanding of why the Greek gods still are talked about and used as references in our lives.
